Cat Zip Alliance

MAGGIE, MILO, MAX, & MIKO:  ALL FOUR ADOPTED!
(FIRST CAMPUS KITTEN RESCUES OF 2008)

Greetings!
The Cat Zip Alliance (CZA) is a non-profit organization with a highly dedicated all-volunteer staff. We have also just received official notification of our 501(3)(c) tax exempt status!

The mission of CZA is
to substantially reduce the number of homeless cats and put an end to unnecessary euthanasia and feline overpopulation in Athens-Clarke County and surrounding communities by actively promoting and practicing the principles of responsible feral cat management.

The first priority of the organization is to help reduce the number of feral cats and kittens on the University of Georgia Campus with its "Campus Cats" program. For more details about this program and how you can help, please go to the "Campus Cats Program" page.  In the future, the CZA hopes to raise funds to expand its efforts to the surrounding community.

PLEASE NOTE: CZA is NOT an organization that can trap and remove felines from property where they are not wanted. There are estimated to be around 20,000 feral cats & kittens in the Athens-Clarke County Area, and not enough alternative homes for them which is one reason why we support responsible feral cat management which has been proven to reduce feral feline populations over time. That being said, the CZA IS happy to provide advice to individuals who want to learn how to help homeless cats & kittens themselves. Many individuals have already successfully contributed to the community by educating themselves and taking action that benefits both the cats and the community.
